ปฏิมากร Auguste Rodin ก็มีปัญหาเรื่องการอ่าน และเขียนเช่นกัน จนบิดาและลุงลงความเห็นว่า คงเรียนอะไรไม่ได้ ดังนั้น เมื่อเติบใหญ่ เขาจึงไม่มีอาชีพเป็นนักเขียน แต่ทำงานปฏิมากรรมจนเป็นปฏิมากรเอกของโลก ผู้รังสรรค์รูปปั้นบรรลือโลกชื่อ The Kiss
ประธานาธิบดีของสหรัฐฯ Woodrow Wilson ก็อ่านหนังสือไม่ออกจนกระทั่งอายุ 9 ขวบ ด้านนายพล George Patton ก็มีเสียงเล่าลือว่า สำเร็จการศึกษาจากวิทยาลัย West Point โดยใช้วิธีจำคำบรรยายของอาจารย์ เพราะอ่านหนังสือไม่ออกเช่นกัน
นอกจากนี้โลกก็มีบุคคลสำคัญอีกหลายคน เช่น มหาเศรษฐี Nelson Rockfeller, ดาราภาพยนตร์ Whoopi Goldberg, อดีตนายกรัฐมนตรีของสิงคโปร์ Lee Kuan Yew, จิตรกร Leonardo da Vinci, นักเขียน Agatha Christie และนักเขียนเทพนิยาย Hans Christian Andersen ที่มีอาการ dyslexia ไม่มากก็น้อยในวัยเด็ก แต่ประสบความสำเร็จในที่สุด โดยเฉพาะ Christie นั้นได้กลายเป็นนักประพันธ์นวนิยายสืบสวนชื่อก้องโลก ผู้เขียนหนังสือได้มากกว่า 100 เล่ม และขายได้กว่า 2,000 ล้านเล่ม
